PGI Plays Saskatchewan
Saskatoon Golf and Country Club, Saskatoon
Tournament Date: September 7, 2012
In Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, the PGI Golf Tournament for Literacy is a wonderful event that brings golf and literacy together, adding a good mix of laughter and great times. The READ Saskatoon PGI Golf Tournament for Literacy provides an opportunity to increase the awareness of the importance of literacy for individuals and families in our community as well as raising funds to ensure READ Saskatoon’s adult and family literacy programs can be offered at no charge to those most in need.
The kick-off to our event was March 1st with our annual READ ‘n’ Feed Celebrity Auction for Literacy. Local celebrities gave their time and talents to create wonderful and sometimes quirky packages to auction to the guests. The evening included both a live and silent auction and tapas. READ ‘n’ Feed provides golfers with an opportunity to register and hold their spot for the PGI Golf Day.
On September 7, 2012 the READ Saskatoon PGI begins with a shot-gun start at The Saskatoon Golf and Country Club at 10:00 am.
Following a day of golfing and good times on the course, an early dinner is served. Golfers are treated to a short program highlighted by the Learner Achievement Award, recognizing an adult learner for their commitment to improve their literacy skills, and the Gzowski Award for the golfer who gets what the day is really about. The Poet Laureate closes the day with the last word.
